Captain FTP 4.2 adds "Automation Manager"

Xnet Communications has announced , an update to its file transfer software for Mac. Version 4.2 introduces the time saving "Automation Manager." User can now Automate the transfer of files/folders to happen on the date and time they choose. Users can schedule jobs to run outside of office hours, off-peak times, or even schedule jobs which will run at the same time every day, or every week. Simply select the files/folders to be transferred and "tell Captain FTP the where and when." Additionally, All Open Tabs can now be viewed or selected from the Open Tabs drop-down list. Active Tabs are now highlighted to show users which sites are currently performing an operation.

Major features:

  • Automate file/folder transfers by date/time and repeat at user defined
    intervals using Captain FTP's Automation Manager.
  • Finder Sidebar added to Favorites Menu with Tooltips
  • Tab List showing all open Tabs, in the browser window, from a drop-down
    list.
  • Quick Connect dialog uses Bonjour.
  • Quick Connect now has the 'Clear List' option to remove entries.
  • OS/400 FTP Server support added
    -'Don't transfer ".DS_Store" files' option now added to FTP Transfer settings
    to block these files being sent with folder transfers.
  • Active Tab is now highlighted to show which sites are currently busy.

    Enhancements:

  • Faster browser display update.
  • Automatic transfer mode chooses between MacBinary(new), Binary and Text.
  • Closing tab icon (X) is now red.
  • Searching Address Book (additional menu).
  • New shortcuts for copy/upload/download
  • now it is 'Cmd <--' or 'Cmd -->'.
  • Rendezvous migrated to Bonjour.

    Bug Fixes:

  • MacBinary transfer didn't set creator/type of the file.
  • MacBinary over 2GB file support (now limited to 4GB due to the protocol
    definition).
  • Users found a Mac OS FTP server which wasn't properly supported by CFTP -
    bug fixed.
