The Sims 2

Aspyr today said the for Mac has begun to arrive in stores across North America, earlier than expected. The title began shipping last week, and has started to appear in stores across the country. The Sims 2 is expected on all retail shelves nationwide by Friday, June 17. The Sims 2 is the sequel to the best selling The Sims. In The Sims 2, players pick one of five aspirations that will take them through an entire lifetime, from the cradle to the grave. Players will be able to choose from Popularity, Fortune, Family, Knowledge and Romance which will determine how each Sim will lead their life. Sims 2 was developed for the Mac by Aspyr Studios, Aspyr's internal development team, under license from Electronic Arts.

"Fans were instantly taken with the game's advanced gameplay mechanics and endless creative possibilities."

"Players can fulfill their Sims' wants while avoiding their worst fears. Every choice that is made has a relevant and dramatic effect on the life of a Sim. Will players give them a long successful existence or leave their
life in shambles? The possibilities are endless."

Last week, Aspyr released Body Shop for The Sims 2 as a free download. This character-creation tool allows users to create a wide variety of unique Sims by choosing skin tone, eye color, hairstyle, facial hair, makeup, clothes and more.

The Sims 2 is rated "T" for "Teen" by the ESRB and is available for the Mac for $50
