PGP Desktop 9.0.1

PGP Corporation today announced is available from our early May report.)

"Support for Mac OS X innovations is an important PGP priority," said Doug McLean, vice president products for PGP Corporation. "With PGP Desktop 9.0.1, Tiger users can simply and automatically protect their confidential information and personal privacy by encrypting email, files, disks, and instant messaging sessions. Larger organizations can add PGP Universal to centrally manage PGP Desktop 9.0.1 users, including centralized key management and policy enforcement. With Tiger support, PGP products offer a full suite of security solutions to users of the major desktop and email platforms."

PGP Desktop 9 includes PGP Virtual Disk encryption (files, folders for Windows only), PGP Mail (automatic and transparent using PGP Universal technology with support for Apple Mail and Microsoft Entourage 2004), PGP Instant Messenger (securing AOL Instant Messenger traffic with iChat and AOL), PGP Zip (file compression), and PGP Shred (permanent file deletion). In addition, PGP Desktop 9.0 automatically posts new user keys to the PGP Global Directory, a new service hosted by PGP Corporation that gives PGP users a trusted, validated, and automatic way to share and retrieve public keys.
