updated 10:25 am EDT, Mon May 23, 2005

Shellac Automator tool

Pixelglow Software today launched , a new tool that conveniently packages UNIX command line tools as Automator actions. Each action is 99 cents (unlimited sessions, unlimited users, on one computer), and version 1.0 comes with 9 different actions. Shellac lets users run powerful UNIX tools within Mac OS X Automator workflows, such as cat, cut, grep, head, paste, sort, tail, uniq, wc and more. Users have access to familiar Aqua controls to tweak each setting of the tool. Users can search for tools by UNIX name and can accept either text or files/folders as input. No extra installation of software is needed -- Shellac comes as a self-contained application. Shellac requires Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.
