I'm glad the MacNN dude who is in charge of monitoring the Apple store website got some action today.

It's gotta be tough reloading that website every 5 minutes to see if anything has been updated.

Store to be back soon

Interesting.. Safari under Panther reports "Your browser sent a message this server could not understand." when attempting to go to the Apple Store BUT Safari under Tiger loads the page with the yellow sticky. Not just Apple Canada Store either.. all stores I tried.

My guess is new (finally) iMacs, maybe iBooks and possible even eMacs. We are finished with the pro updates for a while unless the current towers turn out to be the "Yikes" machines of this decade being replaced in a few months with dual core.

Safari on my Panther loads the page w/ the sticky just fine.

You should probably do a complete backup and reinstall your operating systems.

Loads good for me

The store finally loads well for me. The new iMacs look really good - I'm glad they finally bumped the standard RAM to 512, and the base HD option now is 160GB. Nice.

Immemsely impressive

This is seriously a great deal folks.. Consider the "basic" $1299 model in particular. If we compare this model to the previous $1299 model we had available just before today, we go from 256mb Ram to 512mb standard. From a 80GB HD to a 160GB HD now *standard*. Twice as much VRAM and a *much* better (aka G5 tower-class) graphics card at that, and Airport Extreme card *standard*! Not to mention the first appearance of Bluetooth 2.0 - did i Mention all of these are *standard*.. This is a extremely impressive update - I am impressively surprised! iMac will be my next machine, no doubt.

Warm hard drives

I take it they haven't redesigned the iMac so that hot air doesn't blow on the hard drive. I know a couple people who have had hard drives fail on these, and I don't think keeping them nice and toasty helps much.

incudes pricecuts

So the new Imac comes with all the stuff you had to pay extra for in the old model, BT and Airport and is still cheaper. And it includes the larger 250GB disk, much better graphic card and enough RAM to at least start or upgrade by inserting one 512MB chip and not throwing away the stock 256MB and replacing that with two 512MB. This is really a good upgrade, hardly anything to complain about.

Powerbook Too?

05/03, 09:40am reply

I was looking at the new updates on the Apple store and I noticed that they changed the graphic for the Powerbooks on the main store page. It says Powerbook from $1599....Does that mean an update today or just an error with the graphics. Ill post a screen shot if it isnt showing up for anybody else.
