Apple Store ships Mac OS X Tiger for early delivery

Apple has begun shipping Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, the next version of its Mac OS X operating system. Expected to be officially launched on April 29th, one MacNN reader forwarded shipment confirmation from the Apple Store. The documents showed a delivery date of April 25 via Fedex Ground--well ahead of the official release date next week (orders with expedited shipping may have earlier delivery dates). Several Apple retailers planning Tiger launch parties and Apple will open its second UK store on the same day. Tiger features over 200 new features, including its Spotlight search technology.

I remember a couple of years ago Staples had put 10.2 on its shelves the day before its official release. It was only one day but it felt a little special getting then.

They have to send it early if it's going Ground. Besides, if anything, FedEx is probably instructed to hold off delivery until March 29th, as was the case for Panther.

I'm still excited either way.

WTF??? I'm not going to wait until next March to get my hands on Tiger. They bette not be holding it up for 11 months, that would just suck!

Although, since there really isn't anything interesting in Tiger (unless someone comes out and tells me its 'snappier!'), I'll be sitting on the sideline for a while.

Mine says 2 day so I assume that's Fed Ex 2 day air not ground. It did say ground until a couple of days ago when it magically upgraded to 2 day.
