Not everyone interested in knowing the build has pirated it from BT. As a developer who is concerned about the state that 8a425 was in, I hope that the public release is greater than 8a428. Because 8a425 really felt rushed.

Plus the news that DVD Studio Pro requires 10.4.1 tells me that we'll see an update very quickly.

Sorry, hate to say it, but I have trouble trusting a source with the name of 'piracy'. Then again, everyone seems willing to trust some guy on the MacNN forums, too, so who knows.

People here are so cynical...Like several people that got their retail version from PC/Macmall we all show that we have build 8A428. I have mine installed and all is well except for Remote Desktop which we all knew (actually I forgot and freaked out) that it would not work with Tiger.

And my name was originally in protest to the premature judgments being made about Mac OS X 10.0 based on the rampant piracy of prerelease builds being judged by people who had no f****** clue what they were talking about.

And you can believe what I confirmed over two weeks ago, or not, as I did (and plenty of others can vouch for) for Mac OS X 10.0 (4K78, when people kept insisting it was 4K83), Mac OS X 10.1 (5G64, when people kept insisting it was 5G68), Mac OS X 10.2 (6C115, when people kept insisting it was 6C115b), Mac OS X 10.3 (7B85, when people kept insisting it was 7Cxx), and now Mac OS X 10.4 (8A428).

Are Macs ordered now from the Apple store coming with Tiger installed, or a bundled DVD? Or do we still need to use the Up-To-Date program if we order now?

The Mac-Up-to-Date program?? I ordered my iBook on the April 9th, shipped on April12th. April 12th is the cut off date for the OSX update program.

Well, its MacMall that's been sending out the early copies, so its not just an Apple thing.

But the big question you need to answer: Is getting Tiger from Apple on the 29th worth $35 more than getting it from Amazon on, say, May 2nd? I'd rather save the $35 and use that towards upgrading some of my software/shareware for 10.4 compliance.
