Glowing Pages review

The Detroit Free Press says new programs such as Apple's Pages can "." Wendland says that, eventually, "every computer owner gets the urge to make something slick, be it a family newsletter, a brochure for your kid's soccer team or even a cover for that genealogy research you've been doing." Wendland says after "first being blasé" about Apple's Pages, he is now now gaga over it." "The more I use it, the more blown away I am by its elegance. Alas, it only works with Apple computers, but with all the people who have been switching to the Mac platform recently, we need to talk about it ... It's clean, crisp, very flexible and so easy to use you don't even need to read the instructions. Style is what sets Pages apart. It comes with about 40 design templates that cover everything from invitations to newsletters, brochures, press releases and school or business reports."

    It's one of the best...

...user experiences I've had with Apple products - intuitive, so far no bugs, works as described & nothing to find fault with...

Now if they could just get mail, safari & java working better & lossless codec on my shuffle I'd be a happy guy!

    However....

Try drawing a curved line in either pages or keynote, I have yet to discolver how this can be done. To me that destroys the whole worth of the package when one simple (and I would have thought standard) tool is missing.

    Not a drawing program

Pages is not a drawing program and isn't intended to complete with applications like Illustrator or InDesign. Pages is something a little different—sort of a cross between a word processor and a page layout program. It won't please everyone, obviously. But does any program ever do that?

    Please.

This article is insipid, this man is an idiot and no template-based program, Pages or otherwise has transformative powers capable of turning people into 'design experts'. Instead, we have yet another program that will help people churn out ugly newsletters about their cats and families. Not a helpful comment I know, but my god is this article inane.
