For the 5 that got Dell

The Dumb Junk, err DJ, yay. You have another POS from the king of POS stuff.

YAWN. Nobody wants the DJ - people want the iPod.

    Poor Mikey...

He prices his new DJ competitively just in time for Apple's price cuts. What dimwit would buy the 30GB DJ for $300 when the 30GB iPod photo costs only $50 more?

    iPod - Trend Setter

Just proves the iPod is the market trend setter. Not only are all new HD players just clones of the iPod's Basic design, but they can't even make a revision and price update without Apple making one first. Proves Dell et al, can't design worth a hill of beans. Speaking of which, PLEASE read the story on the the e-hip computer. I was laughing so hard I was crying. Reminds me of Grandpa trying to boogey with the young kids to Young MC's "Let Your Backbone Slide"

    Dell doesn't design

Dell couldn't design something new if the plans were laid in front of them.

The fact is they never have designed anything or had any real R&D dollars. They simply buy other components (or finished stuff) and slap their name on it.

No new developments, no trend setting, just cloning of other's ideas.

"But in terms of being one of the core companies up there, they look at us in digital media in the same sentence as Apple or Microsoft." Rob Glaser

That sentance is "Apple is the leader in digital media, and Microsoft and RealNetworks suck."
