    To be relieved

I think the rush for iPod shuffle 1 GB models will be offset somewhat by the price reduction of the 4 GB mini.

    MacMall can't fill 512 G

MacMall is even worse from the standpoint of supply issues. I ordered a 512 MB iPs from MacMall way back on January 12. The latest estimated ship date was February 18, which has come and gone. The only reasons I'm keeping the order active are the low price and the fact that I want to give it to my nephew for his high school graduation.

What's really sad is that I ordered one from MicroCenter for my wife about 3 weeks ago and got it about 3 days later.

I think theBum hit the nail on the head. The reason Apple is pushing back their orders is because they have completely neglected their other supply channels. I also have a standing order with MacMall, placed on 1/12 with expected shipping at the time of 5-7 days. Right.

Apple probably fed as many of its direct customers first as it could and now must feed others even in the face of tight supplies.

for nearly a month. Maybe instead of being lazy and ordering - ya shoulda taking the shipping cost, driven to the local Apple Store, and gotten it...

    Best Buy

I got a 1GB shuffle at Best Buy last weekend. They had about a dozen or so locked up under the display. It was the Best Buy on Clark St in Chicago if anyone's curious.
