Apple Store Nagoya photos

In Brief: One site has posted photos of the grand opening of the from MP3 players and other gadgets and lost marketshare to others such as Apple because it was overly proprietary about music and entertainment content.

    Re: Whoring my link (sorr

I'm curious... are you the deceitful person that CREATED the website? If so, you should burn in h*** for all the pain and suffering you have created.

If you are not the person that created the website, then I'm sorry you got fooled into willingly succumbing to advertising for the theoretical possibility of getting something expensive for free. While it is true that advertisers are willing to spend large amounts of money to get people to see their advertisements, the detail that requires you to get 10 people to JOIN and participate is what makes this a pyramid scheme. Due to this single limitation, the VAST VAST VAST majority of people that participate will never get their Mac mini. This also applies to the free iPod ads that are all over these Mac sites. Only an incredibly small percentage of people will get the free device, if that. They also have included a stipulation in the agreement which allows them to increase the number of people you must get to join and participate and allows them to decrease the value of the product you will receive. There is nothing in the agreement to stop them from requiring you to get 100 people to join, while only compensating you with a #2 pencil.

I'm no lawyer, but this all reeks of a pyramid scheme to me--which is illegal in the US, by the way.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. DON'T ALLOW ANYONE ELSE TO WASTE THEIR TIME. PULL THESE ADS FROM YOUR WEBSITE. ITS EVIL.

    another comment

Again, I'm not a lawyer and can't definitively comment on the legality of these offers, but I am a mathematician and can comment on the fact that very few people will be able to satisfy the demands.

    I'm not a lawyer, lol

I think its funny how people think they have to give a disclaimer 'I'm not a lawyer'....

Hey, I'm not making any disclaimer at all, and the person's advertising of this unpleasant site, right here in the forums was rude, outside the norms of ettiquette, and pyramid schemese are a waste of time.

And I don't have to be a lawyer to understand the law, not a mathematician to understand simple math.

    Pyramid scheme = evil

But, I am a database administrator....so I can comment on anything I want, because that makes me smarter than lawyers and mathematicians. So, maybe I will make one little disclaimer...if you are average, don't try this at home.

    Sorry

I apologize again for posting that link. I can verify that the site is legit, people really do get their prizes, and it's all legal. I also realize that it's difficult to obtain 10 referrals and that the whole thing is kinda shady. This probably wasn't the place to post that, so go about your business and discuss something else. Sorry.

    Comment Spam scum

It's quite simple. MacNN now needs a way to flag Ponzi scum like JasonQG. CraigsList is already polluted by these losers, now it looks like MacNN is next.

Ponzi schemes -are- illegal. And since the net -is- the written word in the eyes of the law, if enough people complain, these posts -and- the luser's website could be used to prosecute him, at least in the State of California if the Atty General is so inclined.

Me, I already mailed MacNN about this. Let's see what they'll do. Several other blogs have already had to add 'report this comment as Spam' links to their sites.
