Apple can replicate iPod success "on many fronts"

updated 04:55 pm EST, Tue January 18, 2005

LA Times on iPod success

Los Angeles Times has published a brief editorial on Apple's successful iPod and the future of the company. "Apple's market share in computers is still small, but there are two reasons to believe . The first is the iPod ... which showed that Apple can leverage its creativity and the hipness of its brand to enter and dominate new segments in the consumer electronics field. The other is that despite its own strategy, Apple is starting to benefit from enhanced PC compatibility, thanks to the Web." Additionally, "the iPod is a success that Apple can replicate on many fronts."

    If...

    um

It's not a columnist, dude. If you read the first few words again, you'll notice that it's an editorial -- an article produced by the editors of the newspaper.

--As an additional note, it's a full-blown official editorial, not just an article on the opposing page.

    um

It's not just an editor dude. If you read the previous post you'll notice that it is probably produced by the editors. As in not just one editor but several collaborating. :P

    yeah

True, that. Futhermore, getting several of them to agree on the content of an editorial can be a daunting task.

    Refreshing change...

...from all the "Apple is dead" articles that have appeared in publications that use Macs.
