CommuniGate Pro 5

today announced that that the next version of its flagship product, CommuniGate Pro Real-Time Communications v5.0 will offer integrated support for Microsoft Entourage. Expected to ship in early spring 2005, it will bring support for e-mail, contacts, shared folders, calendaring and group scheduling features--all within the familiar Entourage interface. In addition, enterprises operating in a mixed environment of PCs and Macs will be able to take advantage of CommuniGate Pro's existing support for Microsoft Outlook via MAPI connector to leverage the groupware and messaging capabilities with Entourage users having the same capabilities.

CommuniGate Pro is a real-time communication server. The new functionality is based on SIP, the next-generation protocol for voice, video and instant messaging applications. Stalker also said it will offer support for Mac OS X Tiger, noting that the company released a CommuniGate Pro beta which already offers preliminary support for the forthcoming operating system. Additionally, the company says that CommuniGate Pro supports AppleMail, and Apple iCal for email and calendaring, Stalker says it has expanded its support to include the Mozilla Sunbird Calendaring client for OSX.

"Mac users make up a significant portion of Stalker's customer base and it is a priority for us to address the needs of this community," said Vladimir Butenko, CEO of Stalker Software. "Mac users in the SMB and enterprise space will soon have a cost-effective and reliable alternative to working in a Microsoft Exchange server environment."
