Kutztown Area High School has joined the handful of districts in Pennsylvania that have . In October, all 640 students received laptops loaded with the latest software, including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, iMovie, iPhoto and Excel. In the Lehigh Valley, the Bethlehem Area School District has laptops for its sixth- and seventh-graders. In Kutztown, wireless technology allows students to switch on their laptops anywhere in the school. Students also take their laptops home for school work. ''Most of the kids will tell you that enhances their learning,'' says Brenda Winkler, Kutztown's superintendent. Other districts that have started laptop programs have seen an increase in school attendance as well as an increase in students' motivation to learn.
