apple better hurry up: the mobile fon companies already offer direct downloads to mobiles now, in either mp3 or aac formats.
mobiles will be the iPod's competition in the future in other markets. in japan it is here already.
I'm curious as to how big the catalog is. I bought U2 How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb and George Michael's Amazing, but was disappointed that I couldn't find Bryan Adams Open Road.
Well it's finally here and I'll be happy that my girlfriend can stop asking me "is it here yet?". Here's to hoping that Ireland, Australia and Japan are not far behind and that Apple will bring the store to our friends south of the U.S. border: Mexico and South America.
Well, I'm off to spend some money...
Anyway, I'm not complaining, it's already a blast to have that baby!
w00t!
Just switched over to my Canadian credit card :)
Don't worry, they'll put plenty more albums online -- it's been the same for every new store.
I can now preview songs in iTMS and build play lists of desired songs that I can't afford before using Acquisition, BitTorrent, Azureus, LimeWire, etc., to download the songs that iTMS has helped me confirm I want. As long as it's still legal in Canada, I'm going to use filesharing avenues unless it takes forever to download a desired song/album or only crappy quality files dominate GNUtella and other P2P networks.
If I ever strike it rich or the Supreme Court of Canada changes its mind following a future change in laws, I'll actually use my credit card on iTMS.
Other than no longer being plagued with the annoying dialogue box, I can now direct my Windows-using family members to iTMS Canada to see what's good about Apple. Interestingly, my 37-year-old little sister just asked what on earth an iPod is, anyway. With iTMS Canada here, iPod sales should be significantly boosted, and that's what matters more than anything else, other than having those sales lead users to seriously consider buying a Mac next.
