Anyone who's worked retail in their life knows that the day after Thanksgiving is the #1 retail sales day of the year, otherwise known as Black Friday

Of course they will match prices on hardware... it doesn't mean much since they control prices on their hardware!

You nailed it! Apple hardware prices rarely differ much more than $5-$10 from one retailer to the next. Apple's offer to match prices is pretty lame. That's not much of an incentive for me to visit their sale.

the prices and their resellers close business. They NOW will have control of the prices and dictate what they want. I love Macs I don't use a PC, but I believe competition is healthy in order for consumers like us to benefit in the end.

After that, retailers are on their own. Last week CompUSA was selling 3G 10GB iPods for 129.00 USD.
