Always On Wireless has begun shipping its WiFi base station for dialup and broadband Internet connections. The sleek, pocket-sized WiFlyer plugs into a standard telephone line or Ethernet cable to instantly create a 802.11b wireless network. It offers storage of U.S. access telephone numbers from leading dialup service providers, browser-based configuration, WAN and LAN Ethernet ports to support sharing over wired connections, 300 feet of connectivity using internal antennas, manual volume control for telephone line monitoring, a miniature power supply, and support for 128-bit WEP, NAT, and multiple levels of password protection. It is available for $150.
