Apple updates Xserve RAID


Apple today updated its and other reselers in three standard configurations: 1TB (4x250GB) for $6,000; 2.8TB (7x400GB) for $8,500; and 5.6TB (14x400GB) for $13,000.

    RAID

    For video and other types of data featuring large files, RAID 3 would be much better. Having parity stored on one drive means you don't have to keep jumping lumps of parity as you read the data on a RAID 5 system. That's why it's still there!
