a MacOS X server so they don't have the hacking problems?!? The debate continues… I don't like that "SPIRO MULTIMAX 3000" snippet but I'm still hoping its real. The streaming video part of the company is not getting good press so if it was a scam for that its not working. Trial version next week, we'll see!
Those who dream of miracles are often left feeling like idiots. Just look at those Red Sox fans. This was going to be the year...
Right off the bat you've got an untrustworthy company (first its ready, then its in a private 'beta' that doesn't even work). And yet, people still believe in this? Please. I wouldn't pay for it even if it turned out to be true. How do you trust a company that lies, then goes around and says "Send us your money, it'll be OK". (OK, the gov't does this to their citizens all the time, but they're not a company).
"The Great Ad Divide says that Apple's iPod is dominating because of its superior advertising rather than better product quality."
The same can be said about every single product or organization that is at the top of its field or industry.
Furthermore, the article is pretty poorly written, is largely a critique of Creative's ads, and what's with "FONT" tags being used in the title?
That award winning ad campaign didn't really spark sales, did it? So, it has to be product related too.
Afterall, iPod's player features are top notch. The other features are just gravy.
It should be the best seller, 'cause it's the best player.
Yawn. Another column from yet another unqualified commentator. You can't pass off a blog as journalistic integrity.
Some interesting quotes:
"My friend bought a PowerBook G4 (an Apple laptop) and the hardware crashed in less than three months. Another friend got the powerful G5 desktop last year, and the motherboard went kaput in six months."
"I personally don't fancy Apple's products and have never owned one but, by the middle of Mr Job's 'performance' on stage, I was clapping and screaming with the rest of the audience."
Why are we even paying attention to an op-ed written by an amateur? Anyone who read the entire piece can certainly attest to that.
I just go an iPod 40/GB.. Plugged the thing in and it it worked didn't read a manual or install a disc (milage may vary on a PC). It is easy to understand and it works very well. Creative and Dell can't even come close. Apple has had supperior advertising (maybe not in abundance as with the iPod) since 1984 and it never helped sell the mac like the iPod is selling now.
Yeah, you know, Dell products and the like NEVER have any problems. *rolls eyes*

Great brain divide…
never was a fan of Apple's products, never owned one, never touched one, but by the ads they determine that the "the Zens may well be better value for money." and because Apple's products aren't "perfect".
Yeah, I saw a lawn mower in a store window as I was driving by and my friend has the competing brand and it broke so this one's the best, I just know it!
