Virtual Ticket 6.0 debuts

MetaCommunications has announced an upgrade to its production platform for printing, publishing and creative development: features a new Mac OS X native client application with complete support for Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. Version 6 also brings the ability to create custom SQL queries directly from within the product and enhancements to the built-in MetaScript scripting engine. Virtual Ticket enables organizations to centralize information, eliminate paper job tickets, manage production files, traffic and schedule jobs, notify/alert users to changes, manage digital assets and archive files. Due at the end of October, pricing starts at $1000 with free upgrades to customers with support agreements. The company also announced Virtual Ticket Web Server 1.5.

"Virtual Ticket 6.0 has been engineered to run natively on Macintosh OS 9, OS X, and Windows platforms, covering the varying needs of our diverse customer base. We are very excited to see it's introduction and believe our customers will see tremendous benefits in the new feature set," says Robert T. Long, Executive Vice President of MetaCommunications. "Virtual Ticket has always had a powerful built-in search engine, but adding the custom SQL queries takes this to a new level, allowing users to create and save complex relational and contextual searches."

MetaCommunications also announced Virtual Ticket Web Server 1.5, which introduces new add-in support for KPG's RealTimeProof digital proofing solution. The add-on product to Virtual Ticket allows users to interact with digital assets through a web interface. Version 6 allows web users to search, view, and download digital assets cataloged by Virtual Ticket as well as opens the digital asset into the RealTimeProof Partner software application (sold separately) through its native web interface. Additional feature enhancements include support for Windows 2003 Server support and many user interface improvements.
