palmOne debuts Tungsten T5 handheld with flash memory

palmOne today introduced the with new high-capacity flash memory that allows users to store data, photos, videos, and other information. The Tungsten T5 includes 256MB of memory--160MB of flash memory and 55MB for applications. palmOne says that the Tungsten T5 handheld's flash memory protects information even if the device loses its charge, and doubles as a portable flash memory drive as well. The new handheld also features a 320x480 color screen, Bluetooth wireless technology, and an all-new sleek and slim design as well as an Intel 416MHz XScale processor. It is expected to ship November 3rd for $400.
The company also announced a $50 price reduction of the Tungsten T3 handheld, which is now available for $350. It also features DataViz Documents To Go 7.0, which gives users the ability to create and edit Word and Excel compatible files and view and carry PowerPoint files with no desktop conversion required.
The company with a brushed aluminum design ($40), Tungsten T5 Leather case with a suede interior and storage for credit and/or business cards and expansion cards ($30), Tungsten T5 USB Cradle Base (includes an audio out for stereo or powered speakers, $30), Tungsten T5 Cradle Kit (Tungsten T5 cradle, a desktop USB HotSync cable and AC charger, $50), and a Combo Stylus with Pen Multipack (three pen and stylus combinations, $15).
