Finale NotePad 2005 debuts

MakeMusic! today released of , the latest version of the freeware application based on its Finale music notation software. NotePad allows users to create, play back, and print out sheet music. Finale NotePad 2005 offers a variety of powerful and timesaving features for educators, students and hobbyists including compatibility with Finale 2005 files and the ability to create assignments in Finale and share them with their students via NotePad.

NotePad users can set up a music score and enter clefs, time signatures, key signatures, notes, rests, lyrics, markings and musical instructions. The Finale technology automatically arranges the many elements on the page just like an engraver would and prints the sheet music with the same high quality publishers enjoy. New in NotePad 2005 is the ability to easily create and edit Guitar and Bass tablature. Finale NotePad also offers "Human Playback", a feature introduced in Finale 2004, which transforms the playback of music entered via the computer keyboard into an expressive performance, allowing arrangers and composers to hear their work as it was intended to be performed.
