    .Mac = Columbia House

    With pathetic 100 MB storage, 15 MB email inbox, and 1 email address, .Mac is becoming more of Columbia House (discount third party software and hardware) than premium consumer online services. Aside from sync and possibly Backup, an underpowered bundle (I like HomePage templates but they are very limited).

    That said, I would renew .Mac membership in a heartbeat if it includes Mac OS X and iLife subscription. :)

    Who uses this?

    I'd be interested to see what percentage of users actually care about these discounts. I think the free prints and the Versiontracker subscription are the only two promotions I've taken advantage of.

    So, I'm wondering who out there considers these promos in their renewal decision?

    Bah!

    I don't use it. If they don't up the mail storage then i'm outta there.

    I use the address book

    being able to sync that back to my mac is great, but i could just carry around a cheap palm for $100.
