Lexmark X7170 AIO
this week introduced the Lexmark X7170 All-in-One (AIO), which combines faxing, scanning, printing and copying functions into a single device designed for small businesses. It features an integrated document management application (accessible via a graphical interface) that offers the ability to create multiple page PDF files from a variety of formats, convert scanned documents into text files via Lexmark OCR, drag & drop of document thumbnails to perform a variety of functions (print, fax, email, convert, etc.), print from PictBridge-enabled cameras, and view flash tutorials, download templates, and receive updates via the Web.
The X7170 also features a 1200x4800 dpi flatbed scanner with 48-bit color depth and CCD technology that can scan photos, reports and even three-dimensional objects. It also offers borderless printing capabilities, optional six-color support and a maximum 4800 dpi print resolution. It also offers 22 ppm monochrome print speeds, a front-loading paper path with a 4"x6" input tray, a 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and 150-page input tray. Lexmark also integrated a text LCD screen, which helps users execute many functions quickly, without the use of a PC.
Lexmark's printer also features standalone color copy functions, 400 x 400 dpi color fax support at 33.6 Kbps (with 100-page memory and 79 speed dials). The Lexmark X7170 also offers network support, and optional Ethernet and
wireless network adapters. It will begin shipping "soon" for $250.
