Steve Jobs back at Apple

After undergoing surgery in late July for a rare form of pancreatic cancer, Apple CEO Steve Jobs is and plans to return to full-time work later this month. CNET News.com reports that Jobs is attending some company meetings and plans to return to full-time work later this month, after undergoing successful surgery to remove cancer from his pancreas. "At the time of his surgery, Jobs, 49, had estimated he would return to work in September. That apparently is on track. Tim Cook, an executive vice president who oversees Apple's sales, operations and Macintosh unit, has been running the company's daily operations during Jobs' absence."

    shipping date

I wonder if Steve is better at estimating his own shipping date than Apple is at estimating new product shipping dates.

Of course, if he is later than September, he'll blame the surgeon !

Jeez, anything is fair fame when you're posting on a bulletin board, huh?

If a friend or loved one had major, life-altering surgery, would you be snotty to them, too?

    :D

I hate to say it, but that shipping date joke made me giggle.

Anyway, I hope for nothing but the best for Steve, and I'm sure his family is pleased he's recovering well.

    Well

When Steve returns' I'll be very interested to hear what he has to say about the Real/Apple feud.

It made me giggle, and I bet it would make Steve giggle, too. And right now, the guy probably needs a good laugh.

ESPECIALLY during trying times such as this, I think people need to be able to joke about things and add a little levity to the situation.

    I feel it too

The Reality Distortion Field feels stronger. He must be recuperating well!

I can sense him announcing a dual 3.2 ghz machine - available in three months - but shipping in six! :)
