Kano BLUE-WAV storage
has introduced its BLUE-WAV Desktop Storage system, a high-capacity solution for data-intensive storage needs. Featuring Sony's Professional Disc for Data (ProData) optical drive, the BLUE-WAV Desktop Storage system offers up to 23.3GB capacity on a single-sided media cartridge. The BLUE-WAV drive. available in both internal and external models, is ideal for professional data-intensive applications such as document and medical imaging, enterprise data management, graphics design, and financial and official records.
The BLUE-WAV drive utilizes the blue-violet laser for a shorter wavelength which results in higher density storage. The shorter wavelength combined with a robust design and advanced optics results in sustained drive integrity and high data protection. Equipped with LVD SCSI connections, the drive has transfer rates up to 11MB per second.
"We have been shipping DVD desktop storage solutions for two years. But, now customers are demanding more storage capacity," said Robert Young, National Sales Manager for Kano Technologies. "We selected Sony's ProData format for our next-generation desktop solution because of its high performance, high capacity and robust error-correction capabilities."
The BLUE-WAV drive comes with Dantz Restrospect Express software for full-image back-up, disaster recovery and automated backup scheduler. All models come complete with a SCSI host adapter, SCSI cable, SCSI terminator, backup software and one piece of ProData Rewritable media. Suggested Retail pricing for the BLUE-WAV drive is $2750 for the internal and $3000 for the external unit.
