    What 1080i

I RTFA, and it said nothing of 1080i. Could someone please cite a source. I actually don't believe it at all.

    Two Sources

MacNN is not trying to mislead you. However, it is very lazy to give its readers such poor documentation of its report. Macintouch listed the following report which is far superior to either of MacNN's links:

    http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sony-Announces-High-Definition1080i-HDR-FX1-First-3-CCD-HDV-Camcorder.htm

Later this morning, MacCentral posted the following report:

    bet canon changes the XL2

I bet Canon changes the XL2 to HDV asap. It already had the chips for it.
Again- Sony's cheaping out on audio like the VX 1000- will make us wait until they put xlr's in it- like the PD-170.
Then I'll buy one in a heartbeat.
