HP to unveil iPod

Hewlett-Packard plans on Friday to unveil its long-awaited , along with its first televisions, an entertainment hub and the usual array of new printers and cameras, reports CNET News.com. Apple and HP first announced the HP-branded iPod in January, at which time an "HP blue" version of the standard third-generation iPod was shown. The production version of the HP iPod is expected to be a fourth-generation iPod.

    maybe something in blue

Tell me again why Alan Kay went to HP. They make computers with other people's chipsets and OSes, sell rebranded iPods...geez, innovation is just oozing out of that company.

Oh, wait, they also make printers and stuff (quite well). I forgot.

Here's to HP teaming with a company that can actually innovate!

Will it work on a Mac

I wonder if the HP iPod will work on the Mac? If it has a cheaper price point, then buying an HP branded one would work out good, as long as the firmwarew doesn't prevent it's use on the Mac. I wonder if the Apple or HP logos will show on powerup.
