Its the 5300 all over again! Run for your lives!!
i was wondering how long it would take someone to bring up the 5300 again...
I've been using my 15" PB w/backlit keyboard for long hours the past two weeks and the case gets suprisingly, extremely hot, the fan does little good at that point.
Mine is not one of the affected machines, but really does get extremely hot sometimes, even just with (heavy) browsing. Fan waits a long time to "kick in" too ... and is then pretty much useless.
Once I dropped a metal cooling pad under both my laptops, I have had no problems with heat, or the fan coming on. Usually when on my lap or blanket, it gets hot and fan turns on (for obvious reasons). When I have it on my wooden desk it's fine as well.. but I adjusted to just carrying it around with the metal cooler on the bottom of it
