Sony compact photo printer

today announced its new PictureStation DPP-FP30 printer. The compact printer is "about the size of a standard paperback" and features a lightweight silver-colored casing; the photo printer uses dye-sublimation technology to produce continuous tone, photo-quality prints and each photo is sealed with SuperCoat 2 laminate, offering protection against spills, moisture and fingerprints. The printer also supports viewing and printing of images directly from a PictBridge-compatible digital camera (without using a PC). The FP30 printer will be available in October with an included 40 sheet print pack for about $150.
