    7-11 ?!?

They must be a lot fancier on the other side of the pond! That's just bizarre: "Gimme a Slurpie, 12 gallons of regular, and the mini, in pink please. Do you take American Express?"

    Really, really odd.

Huh? 7-11 is located world wide. From the UK to japan. Even took a picture of one in Japan.

    7-11s in Taiwan

7-11s in Taiwan are so prevalent... In Taipei one can find more than one on the same block! That and McDonalds, of all things.

    Bizarre

Apple can't meet the demand for iPod minis right now, right here in the US. Let's not even mention Europe and Japan.

So where's the logic in making deals with a low-end chain store in Taiwan?

    Re: Bizarre

What's so bizarre about it? There are vastly different consumer habits in other areas of the world. Selling iPod minis in 7-11s (or Lawson Station stores or train stations) would make more sense in Japan where people are insanely busy and insanely good consumers.

    whoops!

Didn't mean to imply that people in Taiwain aren't busy. It's a prefect plan really given that Taiwain is perhaps the electronics hub of the world.

    7-11

7-11 is a Japanese convenience store chain that eventually made its way to America. If it's like most everything else in Taiwan, it's probably a bit more upscale than its American counterpart, thus selling an iPod there is not as strange a concept.

    The most shocking thing

to me is that there are even 7-11 stores IN Taiwan.

7-11 is NOT a Japanese convenience store chain; it originated in Texas. Jesus.

    RE: 7-11

Actually DeathWolf 7-11 is American and has been around since 1927.

    Go to http://www.7-eleven.com/about/milestones.asp for details.

On a side note, I hope they strengthen security after they get those iPods.
