    big payoff

The Lindows team seem to come out on top with that dilemma. We all know Lindows chose that name b/c "Lin" is like Linux and "indows" is like Windows. I can see how MS can get annoyed. We would all be pissed off if MS came out with a computer called Macrotosh.

    Lindows had a big stick

Microsoft had to settle with these guys because the counter-suit over the trademark on Windows was successfully going against them. If Microsoft lost the trademark on Windows, which was a widely-used generic term long before they started using it, they risked losing a lot more than $20 million. Hey, maybe I can start a new computer company called "Windblows" and get Microsoft to pay me $20,000,000 to not prove their trademark is invalid. (Don't tell, but I'll settle for $12,000,000.)

    False Clicks

Just set up some boxes in different countries. Hit your customers sites. Constantly roll over the dhcp to give your box a different ip. Then clicky click on those adds.

The entire click through add concept is a fraud. I guess it can be like slot machines: a nice way to launder money.
