Marathon ships 6U rackmount for Power Mac G5

Marathon Computer has announced a new $250 for the Power Mac G5 that fits the computer in a 19" rack horizontally, in only 6U. "Now, the G5 can fit in the same amount of rack space as a G4," said Marathon spokesman David Soch. "We just turned it sideways. The Superdrives that come preinstalled in G5s have clips factory-built into the disc trays for sideways operation." In the new G5 Horizontal Rackmount, Apple's aluminum-finish G5 case rides on ball-bearing sliderails for easy access to the interior of the case and to the rear panel connections.
