Considering every Berklee student needs a 15" PB with Reason 2.0 and Finale, this seems to indicate that Garagaband is worth considering as a 'real' music tool. Nice to see.
Since I'd wager that John Kerry probably doesn't do too much video editing and 3D animation, he's simply practicing good old fiscal responsibility.
I still have a TiBook (1ghz) and it still works great.
