    WiFi vs. USB

The story is a bit confused: The "vPhone" connects via USB and costs $60, the "WiFi vPhone" is $250 and uses 802.11b.

    cheap to Vietnam??

Anyone know of a service that would allow for cheap calls to Vietnam??
My regular phone service is also .42¢ a minute.

    What about Quality

I want to know what the quality is like?? Any tried their service before?

OSX Abuser: I use PowerNet Global to call to Eastern Europe (.07/min). Not sure about the prices to Vietnam.

    the phones are junk!

I don't know about the service but the phone is the same as a Pulver Innovations WiSIP. The WiSIP is licensed from someone else, and ZyXEL also sells it as the Prestige 2000W. I have a WiSIP and these phones are garbage. If you enable 64-bit WEP there is a major hit to audio quality, and 128-bit WEP makes your conversation sound like you're talking through an outboard boat motor. Apparently the CPU in the phone can't handle the encryption tasks and everything else that is going on. The phone has NO ability to get through a "click through" web interface like many hotspots use because there is no built-in browser. The service may be good, but the phone sucks hard.

    prices seem hi

i can get US to other countries phone cards for much cheaper than this service - and that using a reg phone - wonder what the appeal is? wasn't this supposed to bring prices down below using telco's equip?

    CHEAPER???

You can get phone cards that charge less than $0.025 a minute for a US to UK call? Which ones? The best one I could find, SuperAsia, charges about the same and has restrictions (card expires 3 months after first use). There are cards with cheaper per minute rates but they have all sorts of charges and restrictions (connection fee, "after connection" fee, maintenance fee, 3 minute minimum...) which make them less interesting.
