    Pray.

That was the caption on that infamous cover of Wired magazine just a few years ago, underneath a 6-color apple surrounded by a crown of thorns. I guess the prayers have been answered.

    5 million???

I thought they were at 2 million back in January...plus another 900,000 from Jan-March...I would've figured they'd be somewhere around 3.5 million at this point, but 5 million? WOW...

    Their numbers are wrong

    60 million iTMS sales?
55% of the MP3 player market?
    5 million iPod sales?

    They're making this stuff up.

    Well, let's see...

They hit 70 million on the 1 yr. anniversary (late April), plus 3.3 million the following week, plus another 3 weeks at around, say, 3 mil/wk average, so they should be at around 80 million+ by now (granted, the Wired story was probably written a couple of weeks ago, but still...)

The 55% is actually accurate if referring to *revenue*; in terms of *units* I believe it's closer to 35%...

    No Mac mention

From what I've heard (the story hasn't actually broken yet), it's all about the iPod; a fine product. Nothing about the Mac; OS X, nada. Those Wired shills probably haven't paid for a piece of music in five years; no wonder they go ga-ga for iPod. It's may changed their world, but hard the rest of the planet. Anyway, favorable mention from Wired IS a radically different editorial stance on their part.
