today introduced the new Iomega Super DVD Writer 12x Dual-Format USB 2.0 Drive. The dual-layer DVD drive can store up to 8.5 GB on a single DVD+R DL (double layer) disc. Supported formats include DVD+R and DVD+RW (12x4x16x), DVD-R and DVD-RW (8x4x16x), and CD-R and CD-RW discs (40x24x40x). It also features 40x digital audio extraction, buffer underrun protection, and a software bundle that includes Charismac Discribe and MusicMatch. It is scheduled to begin shipping in June for $250 and will require Mac OS X 10.2.7 or later.
