iPods for personality

The iPod mini and its five colors , with Fendi's Juke Box topping the list with a $1,500 price tag and the capability to carry up to a dozen iPods. The case's designer, Karl Lagerfeld, owns 40 iPods.

    Yea... so?

That Apple targets fashion people is not a big suprise. Form beats function in pretty much all of apple's designs. It pisses me off that apple positions themselves this way, but that's what they've done. I like cool technology as much as the next guy, but not to the extremes apple tends to take it.

Personally, I think it's pretty stupid to buy 40 iPods and buy $1500 cases for them. But then again, the average person doesn't seem to care that US soldiers tortured Iraqis in the exact same prision where Saddam tortured Iraqis.

This is a f**ked up world we live in.

    Lighten up Francis

Sure, a $1500 iPod case is ridiculous for 99% of people, but so is buying a $250,000 Ferari that should come with a full time mechanic. Are you really trying to make the leap from the way that rich people burn their money to US soldiers criminal behavior and imply that the average person doesn't see the evil in what you described?

I think someone needs to take their logic pill and have a day at the perspective spa.

On the other hand, At least now we know why iPods were in short supply at xmass time, Karl Lagerfeld was buying them all.

    40? nah

i still think that the "40 iPods" was a quote or translation error, when Lagerfeld really meant to say "40 [Gb] iPod". i mean, 40? i can see if you gave them as gifts, but OWNING 40? i don't think so.

    read the freaking article

why don't you read the freaking article, you imbecile?

"However, since Bowles' report, Lagerfeld has increased his collection significantly -- to 40 iPods. That's right, he now owns 40 iPods, according to the latest issue of French Elle. Modeling a silver jogging suit, Lagerfeld confesses to owning 40 of the devices. Although at first glance the reader may assume he means a single 40-GB iPod, he meant what he said: He has 40 iPods. YOU IGNORANT FOOL

"But then again, the average person doesn't seem to care that US soldiers tortured Iraqis in the exact same prision where Saddam tortured Iraqis."

How dare you. EVERYBODY cares about those Iraqis. But you have to put that in perspective. The vast majority of good news coming out of Iraq that our soldiers are doing have been grossly overshadowed because of this stupid thing. Plus remember that these Iraqi prisoners have most likely killed Americans, people like YOU.

You need a perspective adjustment, buddy.

Not that this discussion even needs to show up on an iPod story... take your whining somewhere else.
