Office 2004 shipping

A MacNN reader reports that his copy of the new version of Office would ship some time in May. Microsoft Office 2004 sells for $400 ($230 upgrade). A student/teacher version is available for $150. Update: Virtual PC 7.0, which will be available as part Microsoft Office 2004 Professional, will be available later this summer, as the company completes development of the application. Version 7 will bring Power Mac G5 compatibility as well as other enhancements.

    UK delivery ?

My order for Office 04 I made at the UK Apple Store is showing on or before 18th June 2004. If you try to order a copy today they are still showing 7-10 weeks delivery. Nice to see we are still at the back of the queue !

    Re: UK delivery

Why order on the Apple Store ? I understand it works pretty well in the US (correct me if I'm wrong). As far as the European one goes, I'm not ready to order anything on it before long. Unexplained prolonged delays before goods finally ship is not tolerable. But sometimes, unexpected things happen. Good luck anyways.

wonder what we can expect now that Connectix doesn't have to bow humbly at the feet of Redmond to get updates completed... maybe a price break, too? pretty-please?

I'm thinking the same thing everytime Apple delays delivery. When the 17"PB took 4 months to show up, I kept thinking "Typical, Apple is doing EVERYTHING they can to keep Macs down."

Grow up, this is business, not your personal vendetta.

What? Microsoft owns Connectix now so everything is dependent on MS.

    i'll wait

I'll wait 6-8 months for this one. i am sure there are tons of bugs and quirks. I wonder if Entourage is still going to use a false IMAP connection for Exchange servers. If so, I might just pass on this overpriced upgrade. I want MAPI.
