\"We Are the Future\"

Apple along with eBay and Yahoo! announced that they will join forces to support Quincy Jones' "" concert, scheduled for May 16, 2004 in Rome, Italy. The collaboration will "allow each company to play a distinct role in bringing the all-star concert to a worldwide audience, and in so doing, raise money to support children in war-torn countries." The performance line-up includes Eve, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Patti Austin, Herbie Hancock, and others as well as celebrity presenters, such as Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Naomi Campbell, Chris Tucker, etc. Apple says it will release the "We Are the Future" single in May and be the exclusive online distributor with a portion of the proceeds going to the benefit of the program's child centers.

    Fundraising ...

    Sounds wonderfull,
Some fundraising advice for Apple ...

If you're going to "raise money to support children in war-torn countries" by asking people to donate, tell us before hand if anyone is getting paid from the donations. I don't want to hear that some celebrity or promoter got paid a bundle from donated money, be specific about how it is to be spent.

If this concert for a "worldwide audience" turns out to be a "bash America" event, I will turn away from Apple, and I've been a customer since my first computer ( Apple IIc ).
