    maybe I'll try it

This is off-topic, but I'm annoyed with the iTunes store. I just tried to buy a song, and was told I had to upgrade to iTunes 4.5 to make a purchase. That's ridiculous. Apple refuses my money because I'm less than one generation behind in updates? Like *most* people, I'm on dial-up, and don't want to download a 10 MB update for the privilege of paying to download a 3.5 MB file.

    you can thank playfair

The reason you need to upgrade is because they changed the authentication algorithm to reinforce their DRM and to disable the playfair software that broke it.

While your statement that 'most' people are on dialup may or may not be accurate, I think it's safe to say that *most* people downloading music via iTMS are not. If you can take the time to download 3.5mb you might as well bite the bullet, stop complaining, and download 10 or pay for the proper technology to do so. I wouldn't have a problem, but the fact that you are complaining about it? So, what Apple should halt innovation and wait until everyone has broadband? Please.

And I'm sure you won't have to download and install the sony software on your PC to download music, because it already came pre-installed.
