    Macromedia Effect

    Yea first post...
Well, if macromedia didn't put Opera in the core, I bet they will not make it available for mac.
They are pissed about Safari ... damm Safari! How about the IE in win32?....

    IRC clients...

Why is it that webbrowser developers feel the need to add IRC clients to their apps (Opera, Chatzilla, etc)? What's wrong with just making a web browser that only browses the web?

    Re: IRC clients

Because people supposedly think everyone wants integrated intenet access (like AOL or MSN). Plus, they run out of features to be added to the browser, so they start tacking on extras (IM client, email program, web composer/tester, etc, etc, etc).

    Bloatware

The legacy of Netscape now infects the code of Opera too! I hope the rendering engine improvements translate into the real world i.e. Macromedia and Adobe applications...

    bad combination

looks like they tried to take Panther's new Finder interface (icons on the side) and blend it with Safari. looks bad imho.
