Weekend tech news: Microsoft could be required to offer a version of Windows a listing that offered three young Vietnamese women for auction and will report the person who posted it to local authorities.

    It's not clear from the story - did it actually take eBay a week to remove this listing? The article says they were informed of it on the 5th, and removed the listing on Friday (the 12th).

    Perhaps they were working with Taiwan law enforcement during that week? Or are they just pathetic?

    I can't believe they took it down the 12th, only because it started the 2nd, and most auctions are 7 day auctions. I'm guessing the took it down the fifth (why else would they be commended for a quick response?).

    I think you must be right, and it was Friday the 5th. Unfortunate that the news stories weren't clearer (I looked at a lot of them) - perhaps that means eBay didn't provide a specific date. Or just that newswires scalp each other's stories a lot. ;)

    I'm glad it was noticed and taken down quickly though. Makes you wonder what else lurks among those millions of auctions on eBay.
