SCO suit hedge fund?

As SCO's legal battle over Linux becomes even more expensive, Microsoft suggests that a . For months, rumors have swirled around the Web alleging that Microsoft helped finance a small Utah software company's suit against IBM and two corporations that use Linux software. BusinessWeek reports that Microsoft did not put up the money, but did play matchmaker for SCO Group and BayStar Capital, a San Francisco hedge fund which made a $50 million investment in SCO last October.

Are there going to be repercussions for MS? Does Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly still believe the "[Anitrust] decree seems to be operating"? (Rueters, 1/23/2004)

Of course! MS is trying sooo haaard to reform.

    Follow the money

You can bet that M$ or it's senior execs are a major investor in said hedge fund. It's a just a front to redirect the funds to SCO.

    Can Apple buy SCO?

    Can Apple buy SCO.

They could be an end to this silliness and become a hero to the linux/unix community.

    Re: Can Apple buy SCO

Why would they? If SCO wins, many MS hating linux users may decide to turn to Apple for a non-MS operating system.

    MS last ditch attempt

This is all really good news.

The more Microsoft hates Linux/Unix, the better. Hopefully they will keep their pact with the devil and never support it or open source software.

In other countries the governments will continue to refuse Microsoft and there will always be somebody building upon Linux/Unix and open source software. As the rest of the world converts it will force others to convert as well.

Hopefully Microsoft stays stubborn and continues to not support and refuse to be compliant with unix based software and Apple will become the "purchased box choice" of unix and there will be many Linux options out there for others who need it.

And Microsoft will eventually die as other companies who are years ahead of them in their software development for Linux/Apple.

    So be it!
