Lexmark unveils new inkjet printers, All-In-Ones

this week unveiled new printers and All-In-One (AIO) products that that use Lexmark's new ink technology, a six-color system that combines dye-based and pigmented inks. The new Lexmark X5270 All-In-One and Lexmark Z816 can generate a four-color, 4" x 6" borderless photo on glossy photo paper as fast as 32 seconds in QuickPrint mode. The company said the new products are due "soon" but provided no specific release date.

The Lexmark X5270 AIO Print Center ($130) offers photo capabilities with borderless and optional six-color printing as well as 15ppm color/22ppm black print speeds. It integrates a 48-bit flatbed color scanner as well. The Lexmark Z816 Color Jetprinter ($100) also features borderless printing, 15ppm/22ppm (color/black) print speeds.



The Lexmark X4270 is designed for demanding small office users with improved print speed (up to 19 ppm black and 10 ppm color). Lexmark says it replaces five pieces of office equipment: phone, fax, printer, copier and scanner. As a a standalone fax machine, the Lexmark X4270 features a 33.6K modem, 99 speed dial
settings, and a fax broadcast function as well as a fax-forward function. The sheet-fed X4270 can make copies with just one touch and offers speeds
of up to 18 copies per minute (cpm) in black and up to 6 cpm in color. It also features Caller ID support and a handset that can function as the customer's primary phone.



The Lexmark X1185 ($80) and X2250 All-In-One Print Centers are designed "for
inkjet shoppers who would benefit from having the added capabilities of an
AIO, but want the ease-of-use typically associated with an inkjet printer.
Both offer a streamlined front panel that is incredibly intuitive, and a low,
slanted design make is easy to operate for the seated user." They both offer black speeds of up to 14 ppm and color print speeds of up to 8ppm. The Lexmark X1185 features PC-enable copying, and the $100 Lexmark X2250 offers standalone copying.
