Yes, still Click, Click .... In someways it's nice cuz it's almost impossible to make syntax errors ... easier to upgrade to newer versions, low-end friendly, etc., etc

ODBC Connectivity

Will it finally give full access to ODBC data sources? Not just importing data, but inserts, updates and deletes?

FM7 New Features

At first FM 7 will look like what you expect to see. However, first the engine is as fast as MySQL (or even faster. There hasn't been enough beta testing to prove it yet).. You have true relational databases. Sky high limitations (no more of the 2GB file limit, 50 files max open at a time, etc... FileMaker even takes relational databases a step further then MQL. You can now go THROUGH other table's relationships. And try this. You can go REVERSE through them too!

No JDBC support on OS X

Why has FileMaker chosen to criple their product on OS X? No JDBC support for OS X users yet Wintel users get it. What else is missing? This missing feature alone will mean no upgrades from me... I guess I stick with Version 5.5.... nope buy a real SQL compliant database. Sad really been using FileMaker since 1988...

THis is a GOOD thing. In the corporate world, it's amazing the look on people's faces when we they're told that they're 100% Apple owned ... it's like they wouldn't do business with them.

All their presentations that I've seen are done on PC's and think there are some differences on both platforms, ie. Comm objects and Applescripting, etc.

I haven't upgraded since version 4 as use 3 at our corporation, but spent the money today as it truly is worth the $149 upgrade fee.

Why is it that the OS X version is treated as a second class citizen, loosing support for being an ODBC/JDBC data source?
