It's time to stop the forums. It's become quite obvious that we don't live in a society mature enough to openly share ideas without some form of control or moderation. There's always been some small amount of c*** to filter in open discussions, but lately, it's become difficult to find anyone with anything intelligent to say. I've generally been avoiding these forums, but decided to check again today to see if the downward spiral has continued and clearly it has.
Save the bandwidth, storage space on your servers and cpu cycles and just shut this mess down. At the very least, please implement a login policy so comments can be attributed to individuals. While the MacCentral forums often have useless comments, you can avoid clicking on users you know post useless comments.
...can make way for Little Brothers - this will only accellerate the rampant paranoia & walled communities that seem to be proliferating across North America... Our sense of 'community' will be anonymized & in a very real way eroded... Of course regulators & lawyers will love it...
