I.R.I.S announced today the release or for Mac, the new version of its flagship OCR software for the Mac platform. OCR software takes scanned pages or documents and converts letters to editable text characters. Over the past years, I.R.I.S. has been developing its an entire range of OCR products for the Mac OS platform.
Readiris Pro 9 recognizes and converts books, magazines, invoices, price lists, reports, and read-only PDFs into editable text. The result can be saved in a variety of output formats, including text files, spreadsheets, PDF files, and HTML files.
Readiris Pro 9 comes with a host of new features, including a completely renewed user interface. New toolbars and redesigned buttons clearly guide the user in the recognition steps: the scanning or opening of a document, the language and output format choice and the recognition.
Version 9 also offers new engine and "Autoformat Technology" for improved formatting speed and accuracy. Additionally, it includes an "Ignore Exterior Area" feature to limit the recognition zone; powerful table recognition technology; and a "Flowing Text" mode to maintain format while editing. The new version also includes support for 104 languages, Asian languages recognition, a new WYSIWYG HTML output, and image output.
Readiris Pro 9 is available in the distribution and retail channels, in Europe, the USA and Asia. Readiris Pro 9 Standard Edition is available for $150 and Readiris Pro 9 Corporate Edition for $400.
