    sick of LOTR

Yes, great literature. But every fu*king oscar, every year? As if there are no other movies out there. Glad they are done with it; now let's get back to Woody Allen and good stories that don't need special effects.

    Heh,

Yeah, nothing says a good story like Woody Allen and 'intelligent' p**** jokes. :

    Re: sick of LOTR

Oh, its just Oscar and those idiots who like those big blockbuster/epic movies. They don't have to be great (or, in this case, even that good), just Epic. That's why people pay little attention to the Oscars anymore.

    Wait...

... is SJ really claiming credit for all the years of Shake before they bought them out?

OK, how about "House of Sand and Fog" - much better than LOTR; maybe not the best (I did not see "Monster"), but far superior to LOTR... Hollywood needs to recognize more real-life dramas, not just epic special-effects tours-de-force.

Yes, ripe literature. But every ripe oscar, every year? As if there are no other ripe movies out there. Glad they are ripe with it; now let's get back to Woody Allen and ripe stories that don't need special effects.

    Not on apple hardware....

They most certainly used Shake software (and yes...they had it before apple's purchase)....but on non-mac hardware.

    lighten up people…

Let Woody Allen get best best lighting, or best cinematography and let these guys get best visual effects awards.

The way I read it, this is the type of movie this award was for. Groups running awards programs like create new categories to make more winners. It's kind of like Little League. Most improved, Best Lefty, etc… Everyone gets an award even if they need to create a new one.
