    Is it true?

Is it true that Apple doesn't send you your own iPod back after battery replacement? The article claims they send a refurbished model. ???

    Confirmation?

you get someone elses ipod when you send it in for another battery replacement. Heaven knows who slobbered all over it and what unspeakable acts they did with it.

    I have always wondered

how the h*** is apple going to know that the ipod has been opened? It's not like there are any screws or warranty sticker that would prove that it has been opened so why are ppl so quick to say "as soon as you open it, apple will void your warranty"

    re:Is it true?

In general, dont expect to get the same iPod as you send in.

Thats why Apple say you got to back up the music before sending it in for service:

    "
Although the service is $99, they state in the article 'iPod equipment that is sent in for battery service or service requiring other repairs will be replaced with functionally equivalent new, used, or refurbished iPod equipment. You will not receive the same iPod that was sent in for service.' So make sure you back up that music before shipping it off!" "
