    If it ain't broke

    Google just works. Period. Why mess with it? About the only change I'd want with Google would be automatically adding an "or" for pluralized words, e.g. if I search for "who let the dog out", I want it to automatically search for "who let the dogS out" too, rather than have to search both separately. If I want just one, I can put it in quotes or something.

    pleeaase!

    Google doesn't work!

    The only thing it's good for is the newsgroups archive;

    For the web all other search engines have better results, expecially for the sponsor ads they show (google's is always way the h*** off)

    For images, use alltheweb - it's far more complete

    for news, well, use a real news site.

    Umm... Google doesn't *have* sponsored ads -- that's a GOOD thing. Companies can't pay off Google to have their site listed at the top in bold. Google works by relevancy rather than by whoever writes them the biggest check. However, Google does sometimes list commonly visited sites along the side that may only be remotely related to your query. And the nice thing about Google's news search is that it searches multiple news sites at once, but obviously they aren't the only ones who offer this feature.
